THE ROLE – HOCKEY COACHES 2024

St Margaret's has a long history of participation in the QGSSSA hockey competition. The popularity of the sport has greatly increased over the years, which has resulted in St Margaret's becoming one of the most successful schools within the QGSSSA competition. This hockey season runs from May to September.

The hockey program is coordinated by Teacher Coordinators, a Lead Coach and a number of Coaches. Coaches lead two training sessions per week with fixtures to be held on Saturdays in Term 3 of the school year.

We are currently seeking the following Hockey Coaches for the 2024 Hockey season:

Coaches - The role of coach is to deliver coaching sessions developed by the Lead Coach and which encourage students in skill and technique development. To view the position description please click here.

ABOUT YOU

You will be an experienced and qualified coach who has a proven ability to develop young Hockey players skills and instil a passion for the sport.

Essential requirements:

• All coaches must have, or be working towards, a minimum Hockey Australia – Level 1 Coaching accreditation. Hockey Australia Coaching accreditation or higher will be highly regarded.
• Lead coaches that possess relevant certification and qualifications to an advanced level, are encouraged to apply.
• Previous coaching experience (for Lead Coaches this must be a minimum of 5 years).
• Experience in playing hockey.
• A working with children blue card or exemption card.
• A current first aid and CPR certificate.
