Home Care Assistants
Casual positions.
Christian Homes Tasmania Ltd. (CHT) are not-for-profit provider of aged care services including residential care, community care and independent living housing options. CHT are committed to excellence in all aspects of our care and services.
We are seeking experienced, enthusiastic and self-motivated Home Care Assistants with a passion for working with the elderly to support them in their own home with tasks including but not limited to providing personal care, shopping, house cleaning, cooking and social support.
Home Care is very different to Residential Care, we roster based on our client’s needs, this resulting in shorter hours. This role would not suit an applicant who is looking for a large amount of hours and can be an excellent option for those who have school aged children or are looking to limit the amount of hours that they wish to work.
The role includes travel between the Eastern Shore and Kingborough. As a casual employee the hours/shifts available will change on a week to week basis and the successful candidates will need to be comfortable that this will occur.
CHT provide person-centred care, based on individual preferences and choices within our residential care facilities and community care services. We do this from a model of care based on our values of Compassion, Honesty, Respect, Integrity, Services and Truth.
As a non-for-profit provider we offer competitive salary rates and the benefit of salary packaging.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Treating clients with dignity and respect and supporting them to maintain their identity;
- Supporting clients with respect to their independence and making informed choices about their care, services and living the life they choose;
- Being flexible with a changing roster to meet the needs of our clients;
- Providing outstanding person centred care;
- Providing excellent social and domestic assistance;
- Complete reporting and documentation based on CHT policies and procedures;
- Knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards and the accreditation process;
