The Role
We are looking for people who would be interested in providing domestic assistance and/or personal care to our clients across southern Tasmania.
In accordance with the relevant Community Care National Service Standards, the Home Care Support Worker will provide support and care to our clients in their own homes. The support provided can help maintain client independence, enhance quality of life and prevent inappropriate admission to hospital or long-term residential care.
You will:
- Work independently as part of a well-supported team.
- Your hours can be flexible.
- You can choose a regular roster or work as call-in relief.

Details of Appointment
Multiple, fixed term casual positions, working as and when required, commencing as soon as possible for approximately twelve (12) months.
- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar vacancies.
Salary
$58,184 - $59,580 pro rata per annum + our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Plus 25% Casual loading - Equivalent of $36.80 - $37.68 per hour.
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
Eligibility
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
Current Driver’s Licence
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Certificate III in Individual Support or other relevant qualification
Applicants should note the position features:
- Travel to clients’ homes using your own registered and insured transport.
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
- Conviction checks in the following areas:
- crimes of violence
- sex related offences
- serious drug offences
- crimes involving dishonesty.
- serious traffic offences.
