About the role
As a Home Care Worker, you will travel to different client homes and provide them with assistance, support and encouragement of independence to reside in their chosen community. We currently have two casual positions available, one in the Scenic Rim area, and one in the Ipswich area.
As a Home Care Worker your days will consist of:
- Helping with cleaning, shopping, meal preparation and other light housework;
- Assisting with transport to appointments and undertaking personal shopping;
- Personal care, including showering, dressing, continence care;
- Assisting with medication;
- Support in developing a consumer driven care plan.
About you
You are someone who wants to make a difference in the lives of seniors as you are a caring and empathetic person. Your ability to build relationships will build trust with the clients and ensure that they are feeling supported and cared for.
You will need:
- A Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support or equivalent;
- Completion of the following unit of competency: HLTHPS006 - Assist clients with medication - or ability to acquire;
- Current First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificates;
- A current driver's licence and a willingness to use your own comprehensively insured vehicle for work purposes (km's paid);
- Physical capacity to carry out the duties required, including house & manual work;
- National Police Certificate or the ability to acquire.
