The Benevolent Society (TBS) is a not-for-profit, non-religious organisation. Since 1813, we have been focused on putting people first. Two centuries of advocacy have helped improve the provision of, and access to, much-needed services at all stages of life. Today, our services support children, families, people with a disability, and older Australians.  Our vision is to create a just society where all Australians can live their best life. If that cause excites you, please read on!

As part of The Benevolent Society's vision, we are strongly committed to reconciliation with our First Nations people of Australia. We remain steadfast in our commitment to promoting the economic, political, and social inclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

About the role

Join our team at Rosemore Cottage, operated by The Benevolent Society, a renowned aged care provider in Monterey. Rosemore Cottage offers a distinctive model of low-care emergency and short-term respite services within a welcoming home-like environment.

At Rosemore Cottage, we provide essential services including medication supervision, personal care assistance, and overnight respite stays for individuals across the Southeast Sydney area. Our facility offers 24-hour live-in assistance and stays ranging from one to seven nights, ensuring comprehensive support for our client's needs. Services also encompass meals, laundry services, social support, and the warmth of companionship.

Be part of our dedicated staff who are committed to assisting and supporting clients during their respite stay, ensuring their comfort and well-being around the clock. If you are passionate about delivering exceptional care in a nurturing environment, consider joining our compassionate team at Rosemore Cottage. Together, we make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide personalised care and assistance to frail older individuals during respite stays, including grooming, bathing, medication administration, and monitoring health.
  • Engage clients in social activities to promote companionship and mental stimulation.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks, laundry services, and meal preparation according to dietary requirements.
  • Ensure appropriate manual handling procedures are followed to maintain client safety and prevent injury.
  • Conduct active night shifts, responding promptly to client needs and emergencies.
  • Maintain accurate records of client care activities and report any changes or concerns.
  • Collaborate with Team Members to ensure coordinated and holistic care.
  • Uphold safety protocols and respond to emergencies promptly.
  • Promote a positive and respectful environment for clients and colleagues.

Requirements:

  • Certificate III or IV in Aged Care or Community Services
  • Experience in aged care services, particularly in facilities.
  • Passion for supporting older individuals and delivering exceptional service.
  • Excellent people skills with the ability to build strong relationships across diverse backgrounds.

Shift Availability:

  • Night shifts: 9:45 PM to 6:45 AM, one or two nights per week (Tuesday or Wednesday) with penalty rates
  • Holiday relieving: morning shifts (6:30 AM to 2:30 PM) or afternoon shifts (2:15 PM to 10:00 PM) with penalty rates.

Our Benefits:

  • Our Buddy-up program is an integral part of our exceptional onboarding process, designed to ensure your success.
  • A supportive and collaborative work environment.
  • Competitive rates, as per our Enterprise Agreement

Join our team and make a meaningful impact in the lives of older Australians while enjoying a flexible and rewarding career.
