About the Business: Superior HDD Pty Ltd are searching for an Underground Utilities Civil Engineer / Estimator to join our team. This role will primarily be situated in the Illawarra and Central Coast NSW, however Superior HDD does complete work across various job locations primarily around NSW, with the capability to work interstate. Superior HDD is a Horizontal Directional Drilling company working on large and complex Civil, Water, Telecommunication, Electrical and Railway projects.

About the role: We are seeking an experienced Horizontal DirectionalSenior Civil Engineer / Estimator. This role entails the preparing, management and submission of quotes and tenders, sourcing job opportunities and projects as well as manage the growth and development of our business within the Utility, Horizontal Directional Drilling, Civil Construction and Mining industries.
This role is integral to the success of the business and will work collaboratively alongside the directors and a support team. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cost estimating and other functions required to
facilitate the compiling and submitting of all quotes and tenders and for project budgeting.
- Accurately prepare quotes ready for submission
to tenders.
- Plan and prepare the tender submission documents.
- Design of crossings, running calculations for
stresses and pulling forces acting on the pipeline during installation.
- Plan of work preparation.
- Continually find opportunities for new work
whilst building, establishing and maintaining a positive and productive client relationship to maximise the opportunity of repeat business.
- Proactively drive new opportunities from
identification and development through to closure.
- Remain up to date and ahead of upcoming work for
existing clients.
- Attend client meetings and liaise with suppliers
to build strong relationships. Experience:
- 5 plus years experience in the HDD industry
- Experience in estimating Civil Construction or
similar environments (underground utilities and pipeline installation preferable).
- Having an existing clientele base within our
industry would be preferable.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to
communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to
work cohesively and collaboratively within a team.
- Good interpersonal skills including strong oral
and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated to grow the business and
proactive business development.
- Ability to prioritise work to meet strict
