Are you passionate about creating vibrant, green and welcoming spaces for communities to thrive? We have an exciting opportunity for a Horticulture and Town Services Officer in Ilfracombe, to join our dedicated team in maintaining the streetscapes and greenspaces of our beautiful town!
The Position
Council is seeking the services of a person to fill the position of Horticulture & Town Services Officer in Ilfracombe. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring that the daily operations and maintenance requirements of all streetscapes and greenspaces are undertaken to the highest standard, including, but not limited to, main business area, public open spaces, tourist recreation areas, reserves, civic spaces, sporting fields, pedestrian and cycle ways, parks, playgrounds, botanical walkways and cemeteries.
If you have the following skills and experience, this role may be perfect for you
- Experience in the operation of small and medium equipment, including ride on mowers, push mowers, chainsaws, whipper snippers, pole saws and hedge trimmers.
- Experience in horticulture maintenance duties
- Hold a current MR class driver’s licence
- General Construction white card.
- Competencies in chainsaw operation, chemical handling, traffic management and traffic control or the ability to obtain
- Have or be willing to obtain their Certificate III in Parks and Gardens.
