Horticulture Operators
We are seeking multiple Horticulture Operators to join our Adele Farm Team to assist with farming operations.
Adele Training Farm is a registered charity, and its vision supports two key principles of the PAYCE Foundation’s approach to philanthropy: long term self-sustainability for charities through the generation of social enterprise revenue and support and upskilling of disadvantaged members of the community to ensure they are job-ready and able to become healthy, productive and positive members of our community.
Adele Training Farm is a social enterprise with a commercial organic blueberry and blackberry farm including a work skills centre. It provides training and employment opportunities to clients of Adele House.
Due to an upcoming expansion, and introduction of new varieties, two exciting opportunities have arisen for experienced Horticulture Operators to join our team. The positions are based at Bucca,15 minutes drive from Moonee Beach NSW.
The Opportunity: Reporting to the Horticulture Operations Manager, these positions are responsible for carrying out various daily and seasonal operations across the Adele Farm. The role includes responsibility to provide operational support on a daily basis and to assist in facilitating a safe and positive environment for Adele House Clients, visitors, volunteers and other farm staff.
Main Duties:
- General Farm maintenance and repairs
- Horticulture and garden machinery operating.
- Irrigation and fertiliser activities.
- Weed and pest control activities.
- Blueberry and Blackberry plant monitoring assistance.
- Maintaining a safe and positive workplace environment
- Provide support and training assistance for other general farm staff and clients.
- Attend group WHS meeting on a regular basis.
- Follow other reasonable directions of the Horticulture Operations Manager and/or General Manager.
We’re looking for an individual with:
- Experience in agriculture, berry growing, or the horticulture industry.
- Tractor and machinery knowledge.
- A Chemical User Permit or willing to attend training.
- Self-motivation, enthusiasm, and reliability with excellent organisational and communication skills
- A proactive and hardworking mindset, thriving in a small team environment.
- The ability to work autonomously when required.
- A genuine passion for the horticulture industry.
- A valid driver's license.
