About the role
This role will involve assisting in the provision of Pharmacy Technician support to the Grampians Health Pharmacy Department (Ballarat) including dispensing and medication distribution services.
Pharmacy technicians work in a variety of core areas within Pharmacy Services at Grampians Health including:
- Dispensary - main pharmacy
- Dispensary - BRICC oncology centre
- Ward / Clinical Pharmacy Service areas
- Clinical trials
- Purchasing
- Compounding - aseptic and extemporaneous
Key Responsibilities
- Dispensary related assistance for inpatient, outpatient and discharge prescription processing
- Distribution of stock to ward areas
- Other technical duties (e.g. deliveries and pharmacy store support) to assist in the day to day functioning of the pharmacy department
- The possibility of manufacturing aseptic products and extemporaneous products (subject to previous training and experience)
Skills and experience
- Successful completion, or working towards completing an accredited Pharmacy Technician qualification, or equivalent e.g. Certificate III in Health Service Assistance (Hospital Pharmacy Technician), or willing to obtain equivalent qualification as approved by the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
