Western Victoria is emerging as an important renewable energy-generation region. The current energy network needs upgrading to share this renewable energy with all Victorians. Our project will add a new link to the network making this possible. AusNet is actively contributing to the renewable generation connections in Victoria and other states. We have a pipeline of major energy infrastructure projects, including the Western Victoria Transmission Network Project (WVTNP)
As the Communications Specialist, you will be delivering support to the Strategic Communications Manager in developing and implementing high-quality project communications plans, campaigns and communications collateral for the Western Renewables Link project and Environment Effects Statement.
With a 3/2 Hybrid split Office / WFH , this role can be based in Melbourne CBD or our Ballarat office and is part of the Development & Future Networks, Westren Renewables Link project team.
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:
- Develop, implement and manage project communications plans in line with relevant communication and engagement strategies, including for the project’s Environment Effects Statement.
- Write communications materials to support the project’s Environmental Effects Statement, in particular developing user-friendly collateral including fact sheets and documents to support engagement.
- Develop, implement and manage communication campaigns for key project milestones and initiatives.
- Support project messaging to be integrated across all project streams.
- Develop and implement community-friendly content including for collateral, website content, videos, media content, advertising, social media and electronic direct mail.
- Project reporting on key project communication activities.
You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
- Tertiary qualifications in a communications or media related discipline, or similar.
- Minimum of ten years’ experience in senior communications roles, public relations, media relations and/or journalism.
- Experience working in complex and political environments.
- Experience in infrastructure and/or energy projects.
- Experience in environmental impact assessment processes advantageous.
- Experience in project communications, writing on technical topics and delivering agile and responsive communications.
- Excellent communication and writing skills across various mediums
