Position Title: Hospital Scientist (Cancer genetics)

Employment Type: Full Time, fixed term till 28th February 2025 - Maternity relief

Hours per week: 38 hours

Position Grade: Year 1 to 8

Salary: $ 67,454.89 to $ 97,706.98 per annum

About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic laboratory team who works together to provide quality care to clients and patients of SydPath, Cancer genetics. We are recruiting for a passionate, dynamic, skilled and committed Hospital Scientist to join our team in a Maternity Relief role. We are seeking those with the motivation to learn, develop and contribute to all areas of cancer genetics.

About you:

We welcome applications from people who have recent experience in Cancer Genetics. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working in an agile work environment. We are recruiting for a committed cancer genetic scientist to join our team. We are seeking those with knowledge and skills, but also the motivation to learn, develop, and contribute to the cancer genetics department. You will need to be organised, have a passion for supporting and being part of a great team culture and have a collaborative personality.

Selection Criteria:

1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.
2. A Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent.
3. Demonstrated current cancer genetics experience including NGS and a sound theoretical knowledge of cancer genetics.
4. Demonstrated understanding of the Anatomical Pathology and Cancer Genetics Quality system.
5. Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills including well developed verbal and written communication, including the ability to liaise with individuals at all levels of the organisation.
6. Demonstrated commitment to accuracy and high level of detail in tasks, problem solving and analytical skills.
7. Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
8. Demonstrated knowledge of LIS systems
9. Demonstrated commitment to accuracy and high level of detail in tasks, problem solving and analytical skills.

10.Proven customer service skills and an ability to exceed client services expectations.
