Quest Breakfast Creek is a 132 room property located next to the famous Breakfast Creek Pub and Albion Park Raceway and a short drive to Fortitude Valley, Brisbane Airport and the CBD. We are a small but passionate team who believe in delivering curated, local experiences for all of our guests.
We are seeking an experienced house person with general maintenance skills on a casual basis. Ideally we require 25-35 hours a week perfect for balancing work/life with your outside interests. The hotel is open 7 days a week, 7am to 10pm. We are open to discussing your availability within these times and days of the week.
Your Day to Day
Keeping our hotel running smoothly is vital to our guest’s experience. As our House/Handy Person you will help our General Manager to keep everything looking perfect and running in great order. From keeping the corridors and public bathrooms clean, completing simple repairs to carrying out more strategic projects (in conjunction with our Maintenance Manager), you will be a key member of our property management team.
You will be required to perform routine preventative maintenance in guest rooms, respond to minor repairs and assist our Housekeeping team with public area cleaning and deep cleans of long-stay apartments.
The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong all-round knowledge in maintenance and general cleaning, be reliable and trustworthy, have great communication skills and be able to work autonomously.
What we need from you
The ideal candidate will have:
- General maintenance and/or repair experience with a good all round knowledge of maintenance procedures, preferably within the hospitality industry
- Previous experience as a Handy/House Person in the accommodation or similar environment, with a strong track record of keeping common areas clean and tidy
- A high level of physical fitness, be able-bodied and comfortable working in a variety of spaces (eg. confined spaces, heights, etc.)
- Experience in all or some of the following: air conditioning, door lock systems, patch & paint, electrical and/or plumbing.
- Proven track record in problem solving, exceeding customer expectations with timeliness and quality, and excellent communication skills
- The ability to work well in a team environment
