Job description

Hotel Grand Chancellor Adelaide is looking for an energetic, motivated and proactive maintenance person to join our maintenance team. You will be joining a team who takes pride in the work they complete and who takes on the responsibility for the smooth and efficient running of the maintenance needs of our hotels.

The successful person will have proven maintenance experience. You will have the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team. Having an eye for detail and the ability to think outside the box to problem solve, is also a must.  

If you are looking for a position where no two days are the same and you like a variety throughout your day, then this is an opportunity not to be missed. Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following across two hotel properties:

  • Carry out and complete all maintenance work/requests and ensures high quality of work
  • Have sound knowledge of a range of general handywork such as plastering, plumbing, carpentry, pool and painting
  • Ability to liaise with Hotel Manager regarding use of contractors within the hotel, controlling expenditure and ensuring work is to the standard required by the company and manufacturer specifications
  • Ability to handle and maintain all power tools
  • Carry out work and preventative maintenance tasks in a timely manner
  • Have exceptional eye for detail, ensuring all rooms and public areas are presented to a high standard
  • Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with contractors
  • Maintaining occupational health and safety requirements by ensuring that work is carried out safely and securing all areas of work at all times

Experience in a similar role within a customer service industry would be an advantage.

This is a full-time, permanent position and you will be required to work 5 days over a 6-day rotating roster. You may be required to work a Sunday or Public Holiday on occasion to meet business needs. This position will require you to work between our two hotels. You will need full unrestricted Australian working rights.
