Tiwi Islands Adventures: Melville Island Lodge is looking for an experienced fulltime housekeeper/all-rounder to join our friendly and professional team.
Established in 1998, Melville Island Lodge has been operating as a high-end Fishing Lodge for 23years. The lodge is situated 60 kms to the north of Darwin, nestled in the small community of Milikapiti on Melville Island.
Our lodge and guided fishing tours are unique, and our well-appointed lodge with its comfortable facilities and fantastic hospitality; makes us one of the best Fishing Lodges in Australia.
About the role
Each day as housekeeper/all-rounder you will be appreciated for maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the lodge, along with your friendly service across other areas including the kitchen and bar.
These duties will include.
- Cleaning and servicing guest rooms
- Cleaning bathrooms, amenities other areas around the lodge
- Washing of linen, folding and storing away.
- Attending the bar in the evening serving beverages over the counter and some table service
- Assisting the cook and helping in the kitchen
- Cleaning dining/deck area and restocking of tea & coffee station.
- Wiping down and setting deck tables for meal service
What you will need
- Previous housekeeping/commercial cleaning experience
- Previous background in commercial kitchens & cooking highly desirable
- Excellent attention to detail
- RSA Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate or willingness to obtain one
- Must have excellent customer/guest relation skills
- Must be reliable, trustworthy and honest.
- Must be friendly, social and easy to get along.
- Must be ok to work split shifts.
- Must have a great sense of humour.
Our team is a jovial bunch that works like a well-oiled machine, so being considerate towards your team mates, and having a genuine willingness to help out when needed; is an important element to this role.
Important to know
Our season runs for approx.10 months of the year, from 25th February and usually working a 10 on/4 off roster.
Staff are required to live on-site for the entire duration of each working swing, so careful consideration should be given to the reality of living in a remote location, as the isolation is not for everyone.
