The Role

The Housekeeper/Cook manages the facility and meal provision and provides a level of caring supervision to residents at Heritage Court. Responsibilities will include:
- Undertake menu planning and prepare and cook well balanced main meals, taking into consideration the preferences and allergies/dietary requirements of residents,
- Maintain kitchen and equipment including ordering food and cleaning supplies, ensuring equipment is maintained and/or repaired and undertaking regular stock checks,
- Provide a safe and supportive environment for residents,
- Assist residents to make Heritage Court a pleasant and homely place in which to live, including celebrating special occasions and assisting to resolve any conflict,
- Demonstrate an understanding of resident behaviours and following up with tenancy or support services if a resident appears to require support.
- Maintain appropriate records and reports.
Please Note: This is a part time permanent role offering 20-22.5hrs across 4 days per week, negotiable for the right person.
About You
To be successful for this role, you will have a genuine passion for wanting to support vulnerable people in our community.
Essential Criteria
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in food preparation and service
- First Aid Level 2 (or willing to obtain)
- Food Handling and Storage qualification (or ability to obtain)
- Commitment to the right of every person to good quality housing
- Satisfactory Police, NDIS & Working with Children’s Check
Desirable:
- Previous experience working in a kitchen and/or similar food preparation roles.
Please note that satisfactory Police Check is required for all staff and those with client related responsibilities are required to provide a NDIS and Working with Children Check (WWCC).
