Drive and Provide
Driving a concrete agitator truck for Hanson is more than just going from A to B and back again. Our Agitator drivers provide high levels of customer service to our clients receiving our products, becoming the face of our business. As an Agi Driver, you will be making multiple deliveries throughout the day and interacting with lots of different people. Every day will be different, there's nothing routine about this role!
About the role:
- This role will be based out of the Bathurst Concrete Plant.
- Most days will start between 6am and 6:30am and drivers can do up to and over 10 hours per day, and around 50 - 55 hours per week. Saturday work is as required and is paid at overtime rates
- We pay a base rate for the first 8 hours of your day, Monday to Friday. After these 8 hours, the next two hours will be at time and a half. If you do more than 10 hours in a day, you go to double time. Meal allowances are generally paid after 10 hours in one shift
- As we mentioned, driving an Agi is like being a Customer Service Agent on wheels. You will be dealing with lots of different personalities every day, so you need to be comfortable interacting with people you haven't met before
- We provide cutting edge technology to not only keep you safe whilst driving, but also to help you map your routes and keep track of your loads
- All new starts go through a 10-day training program before we let you loose by yourself
About you:
- Minimum of HR license (essential) with previous driving experience (preferred)
- You enjoy meeting people and having a chat with them when you're onsite
- You prefer variety in your working life. No two days are ever the same when you're driving one of our Agi trucks
- You take pride in the appearance of your truck. Keep it clean, give it a wash and present the best image of our company. You are a mobile billboard and people notice a dirty truck
- Able to pass a pre-employment medical, including a drug and alcohol test (random testing is also conducted on all Hanson sites)
- Some of our trucks have driver weight limits on their seats and seatbelts. For safety reasons, you may be required to be under a specified weight for these trucks
Hanson Australia is an equal opportunity employer, and we employ people from all walks of life. We're all individuals and we encourage applications from Indigenous Australians, people with disability, those from diverse cultural backgrounds, LGBTQI+ community, as long as you have full Australian work rights and can turn up every day "fit for work", that's enough for us.
