The Opportunity
As the HR Business Partner for Oceania, you will oversee all HR-related functions, from recruitment and onboarding to learning & development, employee relations, and policy implementation. Based in either the Melbourne (VIC) area or Dubbo/Narromine (NSW), you will serve as the primary HR contact for the locations in Oceania. Collaborating closely with local management and the global HR team, your role involves managing HR processes, providing guidance, and coaching managers to optimize staffing.
Your responsibilities encompass a wide range of HR operations, including learning & development, employee relations including mediation and disciplinary actions, compensation & benefits, and recruitment. You'll drive harmonization and standardization to ensure reliability, quality, and consistency while ensuring compliance with employment laws, conditions, and local regulations.
In short, you are an all-round HR professional who can handle tactical challenges but also resolve operational issues. In addition, there will be the opportunity to manage projects in your portfolio and work cross-departmentally.
The number of employees is 65 (50 in Australia, 15 in New Zealand), working in either Research & Development or Marketing & Sales teams. You are in charge of the internal communication and organisation of all internal events to develop individuals and teams and contribute to our employer brand. Therefore, you also liaise with external organisations such as medical services, training providers, and temporary employment agencies to name a few.
About you
You are an entrepreneurial professional who blends insights with a pragmatic approach. Equally comfortable with either senior or operational management, you have excellent communication skills and can easily collaborate and build trust with your colleagues. You can work independently and are open to learning from others. As a true partner in business, you provide both solicited and unsolicited advice and support on HR topics to the team.
In short, you:
- Have a completed higher vocational education preferably in HRM, possibly with relevant further education
- Have a minimum of 3 years' experience as an HR manager, HR business partner, or senior HR officer in a dynamic, results-oriented environment, ideally within an international company with remote teams.
- Have experience with local employment legislation in both Australia and New Zealand
- Are able and willing to travel regularly to the stations/locations in the region (Australia: Narromine, Melbourne; New Zealand: Pukekohe).
Location and Renumeration
The role may be based in Narromine/Dubbo (NSW) or Melbourne (VIC). A highly attractive remuneration package will be negotiated to attract the right person for this crucial role.
