Job description

How do you feel when you wake up on a Monday morning? Do you dread going to work or are you excited? At Monday HR, we create workplaces where people can look forward to Monday.

About the Company

Monday HR is a boutique consulting firm providing custom human resource solutions. We know HR can get a bad rap so we’re on a mission to rebrand it into a more influential, modern, and relevant function within small – medium sized organisations.

We design high-impact employee experiences across strategy, recruitment, onboarding, HR tech, engagement, performance, L&D, culture, and compliance. Our clients are leaders in their fields of hospitality, education, professional services, and retail.

We have a number of clients on a retainer model where we act as their HR department long-term, but we also take on exciting once-off change projects to transform core HR processes.

We’re a small business ourselves, so we’re nimble and thrive in an ever-changing environment. No two days are the same – and that’s how we like it!

The Opportunity

Monday HR currently has three Senior HR Consultants and as we grow, we’re on the hunt for a fourth team member. This vacancy is for a Human Resources/Industrial Relations Consultant who will focus on client delivery.

This role requires an experienced HR skillset, with expertise and experience across the entire employee lifecycle. Previous experience in industrial relations is essential as compliance with Fair Work and other employment legislation is critical to our clients, and often high-risk.

The majority of your time will be spent delivering HR/IR advice to clients and solving complex HR problems. We need someone who is highly organised, confident and who can context-switch with ease.

The HR/IR Consultant position is super flexible for the right person and the location of your work will vary between your home, client offices and shared co-working spaces with the Monday HR team. The current available hours available range from 14 - 21 per week, but we’re open to discussions for the right person.

What you’ll do as our HR/IR Consultant

  • Dive into client data and undertake compliance audits of award coverage, classifications, pay and more.
  • Assist clients with ad-hoc employee questions, professionally and accurately.
  • Coach and upskill leaders to manage their own HR issues.
  • Roll out workplace changes to employee groups (such as updated contracts or new and improved HR processes).
  • Assist the Monday HR team in running workshops and delivering onsite training.
  • Design employee handbooks, HR policy suites and welcome packs.

Who you are:

  • You hold an undergraduate and/or post graduate qualification in HR and/or IR and you have around 5-8 years’ experience.
  • You have strong analytical and interpersonal skills to engage clients and build relationships.
  • You are someone with a positive attitude, have high attention to detail, a collaborative mindset and are comfortable working at a fast pace.
  • You can prioritise objectives in a rapidly evolving environment to ensure key deliverables are met.
  • You want more from your career than a basic internal a HR role. This means having more fun, exposure, growth and variety.

Experience in consulting is a plus but not required.

Life at Monday HR

Monday HR is what we like to call a micro-business. There’s just three of us (so far) and we don’t have a physical office.

We work from the kitchen bench and take calls in the car, but we make sure to get together in person as often as possible. We are busy people who have landed in consulting because we love the flexibility and autonomy it offers.

When it comes to work, we have high standards in productivity, professionalism, quality of advice and client relationships.

We are proud that we can offer our clients peace of mind when it comes to managing their people.

How to Apply

To apply, please submit a current resume and a short cover letter explaining why this role is the right next step for you. We see recruitment as a two-way process, so it’s equally important that we are the right fit for you.
