What will you do?
- Support Group Business strategy at local level
- Organize, lead and develop HR support for operational and functional managers on all HR aspects including but not limiting: recruitment, training, compensation & benefits, performance management, individual relations, talent management
- Exercising an advisory and support role for managers & business leaders (Human Resource Business Partner)
- Participate in any cross-functional project
- Comply with legislation & the delivery of effective Human Resource and Workplace Health, Safety & Wellbeing outcomes
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Advise and support managers in all aspects of managing their teams
- Be a member of the global HR International Management Committee
- Be a member of the Austalian Leadership Team
- Coach and manage HR&WHS team (1 employee)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide sound and consistent advice on the strategic development of the workforce, particularly the development of people capabilities; supports the leadership team to identify the optimum organisational structure;
- Develops strategies and processes to define and deliver a successful, high performance organisational culture;
- Manage recruitment, issue employment contracts, complete onboarding and exit processes in all locations;
- Partner with hiring managers in compliant and legal recruitment activities and processes; carry out interviews as required;
- Works with the leadership team to devise, deliver and/or advise on programs to support succession planning and leadership development at all levels in the business;
- Manage all performance & talent related processes; provide advice to senior and line managers on fit for purpose performance related issues, initiatives and outcomes;
- Ensure full compliance with relevant employment law and legislation (Australia, Japan, China); provide advice in the administration of industrial relations matters;
- Coach, mentor and develop managers and leaders in implementation of employee relations/human resource related policy, procedures, processes and best practices and legal topics
- Investigate complaints related to workplace issues and grievances; make recommendations as appropriate;
- Cultivates professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies;
- Advise and support payroll staff as needed on the TMS desktop system for Ellex;
- Liaise with providers on workplace related visas and migration issues;
- Ensure compliance with labor regulations. Adapt employment contracts and practices according to changes
- Optimize sourcing strategies, implement the recruitment plan with local teams.
- Strengthen employer branding and onboarding processes
- Develop and implement skills and career development programs.
- Define innovative training courses in line with the group's strategy
- Advise and support managers and HR in the weighing of positions to attract, retain and motivate talent
- Participate in the development of competitive benefits systems.
Workplace Health, Safety and Wellbeing
- Coordinate the development and implementation of a WHS strategic plan that reduces and where possible eliminates risk; review and improve as required;
- Support the legal function in provision of high level advice to responsible officers in the execution of their legislative responsibilities;
- Partner and consult with WHS Coordinator, managers and other staff to review the Ellex WHS Risk Register to facilitate continual improvement and risk reduction;
- Provide leadership and specialist advice to management and the WHS Coordinator on WHS Performance Standards and relevant WHS legislation; ensure Ellex compliance as a minimum;
- Provide advice in WHS matters including risk assessments, JSA’s, policy, procedure and work instructions;
- Promote workplace safety by applying knowledge of industrial processes, mechanics, psychology, physiology, and industrial health and safety laws;
- Participate in the investigation of all incidents and near misses; provide input to CAPA and root cause analysis;
- Participate in WHS related inspections and audits as required;
- Provide advice on return to work and rehabilitation processes, including injury management;
- Coach, evaluate and develop the HR & WHS team
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Formal tertiary qualifications in Human Resources and WHS.
- Cert 4 in Training & Assessment.
- Member of the Australian Human Resource Institute (AHRI).
- 5+ years’ experience in Human Resources.

Location (Mawson Lake, AUS). Scope: 170 employees (3 sites & 3 countries: Australia, Japan & China). Reports to – HR Officer. Dotted line with General Manager Australia and business leaders Japan & China.
