The Opportunity:
Silverstone has partnered with accomplished and highly reputable mining service companies within the industry who have a proven track record of success and growth, they are now seeking experienced and qualified Safety Advisors to join the team!
These positions are initially offered on a temp basis through Silverstone with a permanent role on offer for the right candidate after 3 - 6 months.
As a Health & Safety Advisor, you will play a hands-on role in coaching, advising and guiding the workforce on all matters of safety management.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Promoting effective communication and discussion on health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and resources.
- Conducting investigations and audits when required
- Hazard review, monitoring and reporting
- Contribute to pre-start and safety committee meetings
- Ensuring ongoing compliance of all safety systems
- Administrating safety and training data
- Mitigate risk through a proactive approach
- Compile reports, both internally and externally
To be successful, the following criteria will be highly regarded:
- Relevant Occupational Health and Safety qualification (minimum cert IV)
- Minimum 3 years in a similar role
- Valid C Class WA Drivers Licence
- Competent in MS Word and Excel
- Investigation and auditing experience
- A sound understanding of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements
- Ability to build rapport and influence
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment Medical and Drug and Alcohol
