Job description

UGL's Utilities Operations & Maintenance business is a trusted provider of services to owners of assets. Building on our strong reputation and long-standing contracts in power distribution, transmission operations and maintenance, we are poised for significant growth. This expansion is fuelled by mega trends like population growth, energy transition, and the evolving demands of the Western Australian Interconnected System (SWIS).

As part of our strategic growth plan, we're expanding our team to bolster our capacity to deliver operations and maintenance services in Western Australia. Our future is exciting, and we want you to be a part of it. Join us as we grow, innovate, and shape the future of Utilities Operations & Maintenance.

You'll play a key role in overseeing a team of Lineworkers with a focus on the Distribution sector. This hands-on, in-field role enables you to directly engage with Lineworkers, offering leadership in HSE practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and cultivate a safety culture in alignment with UGL's One HSE Culture Framework
  • Lead and mentor Operational Teams, focusing on best practices for risk mitigation
  • Develop and monitor HSE KPIs, in consultation with Operational Leaders
  • Implement tailored safety programmes and initiatives
  • Investigate and report on worksite incidents according to UGL and client procedures
  • Develop and facilitate customised training programmes for Lineworkers

What You'll Need

  • Diploma in Work Health and Safety (WHS) or equivalent
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a high-risk industry, with Electricity Supply Industry (ESI) experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially in Excel
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Cert IV in Training and Assessment is a plus

Please note, you will undergo pre-employment screening, which includes a medical assessment.

Why UGL?

  • Career development in a team that values skill progression
  • Learn from industry-leading experts and mentors
  • Our priority is ensuring a safe, supportive, and uplifting work environment

Benefits You'll Enjoy

  • Diverse opportunities for growth
  • Flexible work arrangements and 16 weeks of paid primary parental leave
  • Exclusive staff discounts across various categories
  • Ongoing learning and leadership development programmes
  • Career pathways within UGL and the larger CIMIC Group
