About the role:

We are looking for a Health and Safety Specialist to provide professional Health, Safety and Environmental support to the Business Units through HSE audit and assurance activities.  The purpose of the role is to contribute to the development, review and continual improvement of the HSE management system.

 What the role will involve:

·         Development of annual HSE assurance program and activities

·         Undertake audits aligned with the program as well as ad hoc audits as required based on business needs.

·         Align findings to criteria, ASNZ or ISO standards, Codes of Practice or other relevant sources.

·         Facilitate the external certification of the HSE management system.

·         Contribute to trend analysis or audit and assurance findings.

·         Engage with OSH and Environmental forums to share trend and drive continual improvement.

·         Establish and maintain relationships with Regions, Business Units including all levels of management.

Skills & Experience: 

·         Degree level qualification in OSH or Environment related discipline, and/or substantial HSE experience in a large multi-disciplined organisation. 

·         Formal qualification in auditing of Management Systems (e.g. BSBAUD503B Lead a Quality Audit).

·         Substantial experience and demonstrated achievements implementing, and integrating HSE management strategies, plans, programs, systems, and change initiatives.

Your ability to build and drive positive and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders will be important in this role. You will have the capability to communicate, advise and influence others and have a flexible working approach. You will have the ability to compile and analyse information to draw conclusions and prepare technical reports.

Being appropriately qualified and experienced in a similar role will be necessary, where you can demonstrate your experience. You will have understanding and application of integrated management systems.
