Hidrive is looking for an experienced HSE Manager to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer.
This role involves developing, implementing, and managing HSE programs, conducting audits, fostering a safety culture and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. You will also play a key role in risk management, emergency response planning and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall workplace safety and environmental sustainability, while maintaining quality standards.

About you
• You hold a tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety (Diploma or Cert IV)
• A Registered Training Officer qualification is desirable
• You have demonstrated experience in strategic risk management
• Excellent communication and leadership skills

About the Role
Key accountabilities of the role:
- Mentor and coach safety interactions that propagate a healthy and visible safety culture that is inculcated throughout the business.
- Mentor leaders and stakeholders to ensure that everyone owns and enjoys behavioural based safety.
- Safety leader who demonstrates visual leadership, ensures that others are coached to own safety and safe systems of work, promotes a safety culture and lives Hidrive’s Core Values.
- Establish and maintain reporting that demonstrates KPI achievements vs forecast targets.
- Consistently reduce injuries and achieve a record of safety excellence that exceeds industry norms.
- Build rapport and network with regulatory bodies including regular on-site visits and reviews.
- Align practical and documented business activities and systems with legislative requirements.
- Oversee all incidents ensuring timely and effective completion of investigations and corrective actions.
- Protect the interests of the business from safety risk exposure.
- Maintain business management systems that support the requirements of ISO 45001 across all Hidrive locations so that certification is maintained.
- Operates strategically, identifying and developing longer term sustainable solutions.
- Work closely with Operations ensuring that all safety initiatives enhance operational efficiencies.
- Conducts and facilitates risk assessment processes to develop new site-specific control plans towards compliance and Zero harm to people, plant and environment.
- Build simplified and meaningful KPI reporting that drives accountability whilst linking across to reward and recognition programs and incentives.
- Conduct work centre/specific internal safety audits to achieve increased safety, wellbeing and productivity.
- Health and hygiene monitoring.
- Upkeep of site Emergency Response Plans.
- Develops and maintain training plans, qualification records, and other material to maintain competency of site employees. Able to complete/facilitate worker training and verification of competency.
- Maintain site risk registers.
- Attend Management meetings, track and execute action items resulting from the meetings and agenda.
