Goulburn-Murray Water (GMW) is Victoria’s largest rural water provider. It stores, manages and delivers about 70 per cent of Victoria’s stored water and around 50 per cent of its underground water supplies. It also operates Australia’s largest irrigation delivery network and manages a range of recreational facilities and services across northern Victoria, including leasing land, licensing houseboats and maintaining public amenities.
GMW has more than 21,000 customers, delivers more than 39,000 services and maintains more than $5 billion in assets. Its major customers comprise irrigators who grow food, and country customers who require water for stock, pets and gardens. It also supplies water to urban water corporations and environmental water holders, who have purchased water entitlements to maintain the health of rivers, streams and wetlands.
With a vision of ‘Delivering for our region and our future’, this recognises the significant role they have in contributing to the prosperity of the region. They take pride in knowing that they are custodians of the infrastructure and services which form such an integral component of economic activity in our region.
