The Opportunity
We are looking for a Health and Safety Specialist The role is accountable for developing and improving the Health, Safety and Environment system, ensuring legal compliance with relevant legislation and providing expert WHS advice and support to the site. The role will also drive continuous improvement and effectively integrate health and safety activities with the day-to-day operations, to drive towards zero harm. This role will be starting ASAP on a 3-6 months contract.
 
What the role entails:

• Develop, implement and improve the Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems to ensure compliance with the legislation.
• Drive the incident management and investigation processes to maintain their high standards..
• Review and develop health and safety manuals in line with the national standards
• Undertake high-level data analysis and interpretation of site safety and health trends and support site response to issues identified.
• Manage site preparation and execution of HSE audits/assessments.
• Providing guidance and support to facilitate the delivery of health, hygiene and injury management functions.

What you will need:

• Certificate IV or above in Occupational Health & Safety
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
• 3+ years working experience in a site-based mining industry
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong understanding and working knowledge of Australian HSE legislation and industry standards
• An ability to engage and develop relationships across all levels of the organisation and with client stakeholders
• Confident use of data management and reporting systems
• Proof of right to work in Australia
