The Auriga Marine division is part of Auriga Group and is one of the fastest growing marine and aviation organisations in Australia, operating across 20 sites nationally with a workforce of 350+ people. The Auriga Marine division provides essential logistics and maritime supply chain services to numerous remote communities and mines located across Northern Australia, including Wadeye, Arnhem Land, the Tiwi Islands and Groote Eylandt.

Auriga Marine is a growing coastal shipping company operating in Northern Territory waters. This role will require a person with initiative and a sense of responsibility who can work within a well-designed Safety System.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Auriga Marine is seeking a full time HSEQ Coordinator to work closely with the freight yard in Darwin and with the fleet of Marine Vessels. This is a hands-on role which will see you get out and interact with the workforce with a balance of office administrative work.  
 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES, NOT LIMITED TO: 

Auriga Marine HSEQ requirements: Manage the risk-based safety management requirements as detailed in the Integrated Management System (IMS). Identify hazards, assess risks, and propose practical controls to increase the safety standards of our sites.

Training Coordination: Actively meet client and Auriga Marine expectations by managing the delivery of all facets of HSEQ awareness training as directed. Ensure that the appropriate level of training is provided to match the defined Auriga Marine safety performance standards.

Incident Investigation & Injury Management: Participate in the Auriga Marine investigation and reporting system, including timely client liaison, evaluation, analysis, and resolution of all relevant factors, to ensure efficient and effective close out of occurrences. Attend to the management of injuries and associated claims under the direction of the QA/HSE Manager.
 

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Conduct site-based audits.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with a variety of IT systems.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in a QA/HSE advisory role.
  • Conduct and lead incident investigations.
  • Demonstrated experience in Rehab and Return to Work processes.
     

QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Minimum qualification of a Certificate 4 in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) - Required
  • Lead Investigator - ICAM
  • Lead Auditor (ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001)
  • Rehab and Return to Work Coordinator
  • Certificate 4 in Training and Assessment is desirable.
  • Knowledge of vessel operations, and transport and logistics requirements
