Location

This position is located in Mitchell, ACT and supports a multi-state operation. Occasional travel may be required from time to time.

The opportunity

We are looking for an enthusiastic and capable Health Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) professional to take on the permanent, full-time position of HSEQ System Auditor (primary) and HSEQ Consultant (secondary).  Reporting to the HSEQ Principal, the key purpose of this role is to support the existing team by leading required client audits professionally and within provided time frames. 

You will support the growth of RME by managing and supporting our customised HSEQ programs with existing and new clients across all regions. The role is varied and will involve time working at our office currently based in Harrison, ACT and our client’s workplace throughout Canberra and occasionally Sydney. The role - auditing
Leading and autonomously completing the execution of work, comprising both planned audits, ad hoc and one-off audits, and special engagements in response to management and client requests using the established methodology to:

  • Review business processes and internal controls, to assess their adequacy, process efficiency, and compliance with relevant standards, laws, regulations, and company management systems.
  • Identify weaknesses in business processes and internal controls (“Findings”) and when required work with the business to develop practical and value-added solutions to remediate the findings.
  • Prepare audit reports, ensuring that findings are clearly defined.
  • Ensure remediation actions are properly executed promptly where required.

Supporting HSEQ Consulting

  • Assisting in the development of HSEQ management systems using our bespoke software, assisting companies with the implementation of HSEQ management systems, and compliance activities such as audits and inspections. 
  • Identify and capture new business opportunities through strong relationship building.
  • Proactively manage and retain an existing client base.
  • Conduct on-site assessments, health & safety audits and workplace inspections using customised software as required.
  • Assist with the implementation of Integrated Business Management Systems (IBMS- training provided).
  • Lead and coach managers in the implementation and verification of HSEQ management systems, safe work procedures, and work practices and provide advice on areas for improvement. 
  • Lead in the identification, assessment, and controls of health, safety, environment & quality (HSEQ) risks, ensuring identified HSEQ risks have suitable controls for actioning. 
  • Preparation, implementation, and monitoring of HSEQ compliance for clients in accordance with regulatory and system requirements. 
  • Completing client investigations and reports. 
  • Uphold the company values and behaviours and comply with the Code of Conduct, company policies, process standards, and practice standards. 

About  You 
To be successful in this position you will need the following skills and attributes: 

  • Lead Auditor and ISO45001 auditor qualifications (required).
  • Diploma of Quality Auditing qualifications (preferred)
  • Extensive audit experience in risk assessment, process and control review, implementation, and advisory, including knowledge of ISO Standards (45001,  9001& 14001), Current Risk Management Standards, etc;
  • Strong project planning, time, communication and people leadership skills at all levels of business & knowledge in WHS, Quality, and Environmental Management Systems.
  • Knowledge of WHS legislation and statutes, and ability to interpret any applicable statutes or legislation relevant to client requirements. 
  • Demonstrated experience applying agile methodologies and data analysis techniques in an audit environment will be advantageous.
  • Skills in monitoring, reviewing, investigative review techniques, reporting, and continuous improvement on performance and compliance. 
  • White Card (preferred).
  • Formal qualifications in Work Health and Safety (Certificate IV WHS) or equivalent (preferred).
  • Diploma in OH&S (preferred)
  • A passion for driving safety, training and systems
