St Francis Catholic College, Edmondson Park is located near the junction of the M5 and M7 motorways. It is a rapidly growing K-12 school with a student population nearing 1450 students in 2024. The college is one school, not a traditional primary school and high school coexisting on the same site. As such, the college is organised into Junior Years Learning (K-4), Middle Years Learning (5-8), and Senior Years Learning (9-12). St Francis is entering its 7th Stage of Building Development and offers state-of-the-art learning & specialist KLA facilities.
A permanent full time position commencing 30 January 2024. The successful applicant will be required to teach HSIE (Years 7-12) and have the capacity to teach Business Studies, and/or Geography (Stage 6). The role of the classroom teacher exists to support growth in faith and improvement in learning so that students may reach their full potential.
ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA
- Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
- Create and maintain an orderly, safe and supportive learning environment based on the principles of PB4L.
- Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students to support their full participation in learning.
- Ability to plan for and implement effective teaching and learning in HSIE.
- Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning.
- Demonstrate commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents /carers, and the wider school community.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills.
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- The ability to teach Religious Education would be beneficial.
- Ideally, the successful candidate will have previously taught Stage 6 Business Studies, and/or Geography to HSC Level.
- Appropriate qualifications for teaching nominated Key Learning Area (s).
- Level B Accreditation by To Work, Teach, and Lead policy or a commitment to gain level within the first 5 years of employment with CEDoW.
- The applicant must be registered to teach with NESA.
This role is classified as child-related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required before your employment with CEDoW.
