Northern Sydney Local Health Distrcit (NSLHD) is seeking an experienced Chair to lead, direct and facilitate decision making of the Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) and its' subcommittees.
Employment Type: Temporary Part Time for up to 2 years (with possibility of ongoing employment)

Remuneration: $77.16 - $86.31 per hour

The Research Portfolio at NSLHD is a high performing team who are committee to support high quality, ethical research across the health District.
What you'll be doing
The Chair is responsible for the overall conduct of the HREC in accordance with the Terms of Reference and the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research (2007, updated 2018). The HREC Chair works closely with the Research Office to provide professional leadership to the Committee Members to encourage best practice in ethical review.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Relevant qualifications in a science or health related discipline and/or extensive relevant experience with proven leadership, management and organisational skills in a clinical or health research environment.
- Actively interested in Human Research Ethics and a deep and sound understanding of the principles underpinning ethical research, including knowledge and experience in the application of the National Statement on the Ethical Conduct in Human Research (2007, updated 2018).
- Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with a wide range of people, both internal and external to NSLHD.
- Leadership experience and demonstrated skills to manage Committee business, including conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
