As the Joint ChairProfessor of Nursing and Midwifery Research, you will provide vision and leadership in the Nursing and Midwifery disciplines, in advancing Nursing and Midwifery Research and evidenced based practice throughout Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD) and the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Newcastle. 

The role will advance research-based articulation of clinical reasoning among Nursing and Midwifery staff and facilitate translational research initiatives to build the research capability of nurses and midwives within the Hunter New England Local Health District and the School. 

The successful candidate will work within the strategic framework of the Hunter New England Local Health District and the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Newcastle, fostering a collaborative, dynamic, productive and globally competitive research environment through research collaboration, external grant income, publication outputs, and research higher degree supervision. 

This position will be located at the HNELHD Nursing and Midwifery Research Centre, based at James Fletcher Hospital, Newcastle, working across the District.
