This is a multi-faceted and unique opportunity for a Human Resource Graduate position with dual reporting lines to the ANZ HR Director and APAC Head of HR Shared Services based in Macquarie Park, Sydney, for a 12-month fixed-term contract.
A Day in the Life
Under the leadership of the ANZ HR Director, you will work closely with professionals across the HR team, where you will have the opportunity to build your cross-functional HR knowledge, which will be valuable in this role and beyond. In particular, you will work with HR Business Partners, Talent Management, Talent Acquisition and Total Rewards teams to implement and deploy exciting and market-leading HR strategies, which is the cornerstone of building Medtronic's inclusive, diverse and equitable culture. To be successful in this role, you will require a strong business partnering mindset with an aptitude for administration, operations, data governance, and reporting. In addition, you will have the natural ability to demonstrate empathy, a flexible approach, and the ability to cross-collaborate and communicate at all levels. Your duties will fluctuate depending on the business requirements, so no single day will be the same, giving you learning and development opportunities and problem-solving skills.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing operational HR support across various processes and programs for Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Talent Management, and Total Rewards teams. This support is inclusive of, but not limited to, review of employment contracts, visa renewals, set up of training programs and accurate maintenance of employee files
Assisting the global mobility initiatives within Medtronic ANZ
Collaborating across the HR function to ensure operational standards and procedures are effectively leveraged and HR programs and processes are administered effectively and efficiently
Ownership of employee orientation training programs, including the planning, presenting and execution of such programs
Providing analysis, reporting and internal communication services with team members
Assisting with the audit requirements within the HR team
Delivering on ad-hoc projects as defined by the HR Director and HR leadership teams, such as submissions for the Great Place to Work, WGEA and other HR awards and recognitions
Must Have
Several jurisdictions across Australia have established mandatory requirements for healthcare workers and others working in health care settings to be vaccinated with at least two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine. To be eligible to apply and be considered for this role, Medtronic Australasia requires candidates to meet the conditions of the relevant and current Government directions (including Public Health Orders). The successful candidate will be required to provide evidence of vaccination before an appointment.
A Bachelor's degree in HR or a related discipline
Nice to Have
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and be self-directed and take directions and execute as required
Strong skills across the entire MS Office suite of products with the capability to learn new technologies and systems
Demonstrated ability to take the initiative, prioritize conflicting projects and effectively manage deadlines
High-level attention to detail is a must in this role as a vital component of the role is data analysis and reporting
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding payroll, benefits and employment issues
A customer-focused approach with exceptional follow-through and accountability
