About the roleWe are looking for a
HV Electrical Technician, who has at least 10 years' of experience with the operation and maintenance of High voltage generations and distribution systems and would be advantageous to have some background in instrumentation and control systems within a power station. To be successful in this challenging role, you will need to be self-motivated and possess strong communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships.This role is a great opportunity for someone who has a Electrical Trade background, strong work ethic and a 'can do' attitude along with good Power Station and/or Fixed Plant experience.Working 12-hour days and reporting to the Supervisor for Electrical Maintenance, you will be:
- Manage integrity of HV assets (oil sampling transformers, ultrasonic monitoring for insulation breakdown, managing 3rd party testing of protection relays)
- Managing records for HV Switching and HV Access permits across the site.
- Knowledge of relevant electrical safety acts, regulations, standards and international codes
- Preferred - Allen Bradley PLC Skills
- Preferred - Experience with Honeywell Experion systems
- Resource planning for shutdowns, statutory testing campaigns
- Provide technical advice to management and operating departments
About youTo be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- A manual C class drivers license
- Unwavering commitment to safety
- Qualification as HV Operator
- Exposure to basic computer skills
- The ability to be flexible within the role and adapt to a changing environment
It will also be beneficial if you have:
- Post trade experience in a power station, mining or heavy industrial environment preferred
- Experience in instrumentation and control systems
- HV experience

Who we areEnergy Resources of Australia Ltd (ERA) is a publicly listed company with Rio Tinto as its major shareholder. ERA, established in 1979, previously mined and produced uranium oxide from its Ranger mine in the beautiful and rugged Alligator Rivers area of the Northern Territory. The Ranger mine is located on Aboriginal land, surrounded by, but currently separate from, Kakadu National Park.ERA's production operations on the Ranger Project Area ceased in January 2021, with the major focus now shifting to the comprehensive world-class rehabilitation of the Ranger mine that will eventually allow it to be incorporated back into the Kakadu National Park should the Traditional Owners and the Commonwealth Government wish.The Ranger Rehabilitation Project is the largest project of its kind in Australia and possibly the world.
