Air Control’s Victorian Commercial Projects Department is looking for an experienced HVAC/Mechanical Services Project Manager to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing a large variaty of commercial HVAC and Mechanical Services installations and projects.
The key strengths of the person best suited to the role include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and maintain strong and sustainable relationships with clients, builders and principal contractors ensuring projects a delivered in a timely and effective manner.
- Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, and Air Control team members day to day allocating sufficient labour and resources where needed.
- Ensure all contractual requirements and obligations of our projects are managed in a timely and professional way mitigating any risk of exposure for the business.
- Lead and manage the project team, including active participation in site meetings, partnering with Management to respond to performance and conduct concerns; and providing coaching, feedback, and development to team members.
- Manage the financial performance of the project by actively using internal cost reporting systems developed to monitor all financial aspects of the project ensuring procurement, productivity and variation targets are met.
- Resource and workforce planning including ensuring adequate and appropriate resources are in place to meet the program of the works.
- Engaging with suppliers and approved subcontractors to carry out the works; including agreeing contract terms, costings and managing suppliers/subcontractors to ensure Air Control’s high expectations of delivering a quality installation are met.
- Manage the productivity of the site labour team weekly and provide labour forecasts monthly ensuring targets and met.
- Ensure adherence to WHS legislation across all projects to ensure the provision of a safe working environment for all workers.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- 2 or more years’ experience in managing a diverse range of HVAC/Mechanical projects within the construction and building services industry.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively liaise, communicate and negotiate with customer representatives, site and office personnel, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing a project team.
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to develop soundly based, innovative strategies that lead to improved profitability.
- Experience in the planning and implementation of site-related health and safety requirements.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the financial management systems required for effective project management within the Mechanical Services industry, including the identification and management of variations.
- Experience in the use of word processors, spreadsheets, Microsoft Office applications and Air Control's in house financial processing databases and programs.
