About the Role:
We are continually looking for enthusiastic and talented people to join our team.
We are currently expanding our team based in the Hunter Valley (offices in Newcastle and Singleton) and are seeking a Hydrologist/Water Resources Engineer on a permanent full-time basis.
Key responsibilities and activities include:
• Contribute to a range of hydrology and flood modelling projects
• Contribute to surface water assessments as part of environmental impact studies
• Catchment modelling and water balance modelling (GoldSim)
• Data analysis and interpretation
• Development of monitoring and management plans
• Interpretation and application of guidelines, legislation, and policy relating to water management
• Preparation of scientific and technical reports
• Project management and proposal preparation
• Some travel and site work may be required intermittently
Knowledge, Experience and Skill requirements include:
• Be a highly motivated self-starter who is able to prioritise tasks, work autonomously and contribute to a positive team culture both in the local office and for ATC Williams more broadly
• Possess a relevant qualification in Hydrology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or similar
• Have 4-10 years’ experience in a similar position, providing advice to the mining, construction, energy, industrial processing, or public sectors
• Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
• Have prior experience in environmental data analysis and hydrological modelling, with a sound understanding of ARR2019
• Strong experience with a range of hydrology and water resource modelling packages such as GOLDSIM, RORB, TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, SOURCE, XP-RAFTS, URBS, IQQM, MUSIC, etc.
• Prior experience in both mine water management and water quality assessments would be highly regarded, but is not essential
