The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Information Communications Technology (ICT) specialist to join the Xavier College community as the ICT Operations Manager.
This position is considered to be a senior managerial role in the College and will be expected to provide expert reliable advice and support in all aspects of ICT management across the College, including software and hardware maintenance and assessment and diagnostics, exercising autonomy and independent professional judgement based on qualifications, extensive experience and a specialised level of expertise.
The ICT Operations Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the effective delivery of ICT requirements and the management and maintenance of ICT infrastructure across the College. This fast-paced, vital role works collaboratively with the College Executive Team, Head of Digital Learning, the Risk and Compliance Manager and the ICT operations team to plan, deliver and implement effective ICT solutions.
The role is a permanent, full-time position, based at the Gawler Belt campus, however, on site at Two Wells Campus and Evanston, as required.
As ICT Operations Manager you will:
- Work with the College Executive Team on the management, organisation, direction and control of ICT projects, ensuring deadlines, objectives and deliverables are met within agreed timeframes and budgets
- Work collaboratively with the College Executive Officer to manage the ICT operations budget, investigating the cost benefit analysis of software and hardware acquisitions, recommending solutions or alternatives, as required
- Work collaboratively with the Head of Digital Learning to review hardware and software acquisition and maintenance, ensuring the College maintains up-to-date technologies within the classroom and across the College generally
- Aim to ensure the security, integrity, and availability of the College’s digital assets and infrastructure are protected from cyber risk through a variety of management, analysis, training, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives
- Develop and maintain the College’s systems ICT architecture, ensuring the highest level of standards and protocols for data exchange, communications, software and interconnection of network information systems are maintained in line with Catholic Education SA requirements

The successful candidate will:
- Hold postgraduate qualification/s in Network Management, Information Technology or a related discipline and demonstrated experience working in a comparable role (minimum 5 years)
- Have sound knowledge of security architecture, incident response and management.
- Have contemporary, innovative solutions and the ability to communicate complex technology concepts at all levels
- An appreciation and understanding of the complexities that are involved in managing a large network in an educational setting
- Significant interest in the area of change management and how it relates to the coordination and management of ICT in an educational setting
- Possess a high proficiency of computer skills, with underpinning knowledge of multiple software and hardware platforms
- High level knowledge of legal obligations and confidentiality requirements as it relates to ICT
- Knowledge and experience of capital development processes
