Details: Who are we looking for:

CIT Data and Digitisation Branch are looking for a high performing ICT Program Delivery and Governance Director who is keen to make change to the Vocational Education and Training sector in Canberra by leading CIT's Cloud Campus program that will support CIT's digital journey. This role is for an immediate start, for an initial period of three months with the possibility of extension up to 6 months.

Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, the ICT Program Delivery and Governance Director will be responsible for successfully leading and implementing the Cloud Campus program objectives and deliverables while ensuring alignment and support for CIT's Digital Transformation Strategy. Cloud Campus is not just about delivering technical solutions to support CIT - it is about undertaking the key transformation of the way that CIT performs its business using digital capabilities and planning to support the change. As such change management and business transformation skills will be critical in meeting the deliverables for program success.

In this role you will ensure CIT's ICT changes are knitted together and coordinated as we move forward toward our digital ambition. You will also be responsible for leading a team of professional practices such as Program Management, Capability and Delivery, Capability Analysis and Architecture and promoting collaboration across the broader Institute to support the CIT workforce to achieve our organisational goals described in the Strategic Compass and continuing a strong collaboration with DDTS

What you will do:

Your responsibilities in this role encompass providing strategic oversight and steering the delivery of the Cloud Campus program, along with pivotal ICT initiatives and associated activities. The program adheres to the Managing Successful Programs methodology (MSP).

To achieve these objectives, you will need to ensure the program requirements are clearly understood and followed. This involves actively establishing user expectations and analysing stakeholder interests, which include students, academic staff, administrative support staff, and external stakeholders. A critical success factor for this position is ensuring the realisation of benefits and the attainment of business outcomes for each project and the overall program within CIT and its systems, in accordance with the outlined business case and CIT's Digital Transformation Strategy. Your role is pivotal in driving the successful alignment of the program with overarching strategic objectives.

To be the successful applicant in the role you will need:

  1. Demonstrated experience in delivery of technical projects and programs, including a high-level understanding of project methodologies, processes and procedures.

  2. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage the scoping and delivery of complex programs, including the ability to address administrative and operational considerations.

  3. Demonstrated experience to lead a large and diverse organization through change.

  4. Possess strong communication, negotiation and exploration skills to understand the landscape and the impact on the CIT ecosystem, and the ability to inspire and drive change in a respectful, positive and forward focused manner.

Eligibility/ Other Requirements:

  • Qualifications in project / program management, or extensive experience in a project or program management role at a senior level in a public service environment is highly desirable.
  • Experience in leading a business through change at a senior level in a public service environment is highly desirable.

Note: This position is available to ACT Government officers and employees only. This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of three months with the possibility of extension up to six months.
