Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring thorough capture of system requirements to guide the architecture of solutions that fully meet stakeholder needs.
- Identifying and evaluating the implications of relevant policies, standards, and constraints from Queensland Health, government, and industry, including funding and scheduling considerations. This involves analyzing major architectural options, assessing associated risks and issues, and ensuring the solution architecture aligns with function, service, quality, and system management requirements.
- Engaging with stakeholders and ICT professionals to foster a shared understanding and acceptance of proposed solutions.
- Providing expert advice on solution alternatives, architectural risks, issues, and implications.
- Managing on-premises and cloud engagements using project management methodologies to prioritize and organize resources and work schedules, defining necessary resources and services for delivering solution architectures.
- Developing comprehensive documentation such as responses, briefs, submissions, and reports to guide solution architecture development and implementation.
- Promoting effective adoption of solution architecture methods and tools and conducting architectural trade-off analysis to support decision-making.
- Cultivating relationships with stakeholders, including senior program/project executives, to facilitate open communication and collaboration.
- Leading the development of solution architectures for complex systems, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and governance frameworks.
- Managing and designing interfaces for connecting to various systems managed by Information and Technology Services.

- Proficiency in various technology domains, including cloud technologies and other As-a-Service options, and applying architectural principles such as scalability, resiliency, security, cost-effectiveness, automation, and management.
- Ability to establish positive strategic partnerships and collaborative relationships with senior executive stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to address technology challenges in response to business and ICT requirements.
- Experience in applying solution architecture principles, practices, and processes within enterprise architecture, ICT investment, and governance frameworks.
