Illustrator - Childrenswear

Start 2024 in an exciting new role ! We are seeking a creative and experienced  Illustrator/Textile Designer to join  the design team of one of our successful Childrenswear clients.
Their ranges are sold both Internationally and in Australia, the brand is already well acclaimed and growing fast. The Head Office is based in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

Responsibilities include:

• Sketching/creating new artworks and graphics in Illustrator based on design briefs including yardages, placement prints, applique artworks, embroideries, and packaging.
• Brainstorming ideas and themes for new ranges in collaboration with the design/graphics team which fit with the brand’s DNA 
• Researching new ideas for graphics, themes for range stories, colour research and textile effects (including but not limited to embroidery, print and applique finishes)
• Working in collaboration with the design/graphics team to meet the graphics timeline 
• Completing key tasks such as sketching, vectoring, colouring new artworks in line with the master colour palette and stories, putting prints into repeats, scaling graphics and developing supplier art tech packs which are print ready
• Creating textile artwork for apparel and accessories including a vast range of apparel, bags, footwear and toys
• Working on Seasonal Main ranges for wholesale and retail customers (Autumn/Winter and Spring/Summer) as well as exclusive capsule collections for their website.
   

Skillset & Experience required :

• Tertiary education in Graphic Design or a similar course.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar environment.
• You will need a background in FASHION or HOMEWARES to be the successful candidate.
