About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an opportunity for a JORN Acquisition ILS Discipline Lead to join our Battlespace Integration Solutions Strategic Surveillance Business Unit
JORN (Jindalee Operational Radar Network) is a state-of-the-art defence system providing wide-area surveillance capability and plays a vital role in supporting the Australian Defence Force's air and maritime operations, border protection, disaster relief and rescue operations.
This role will see you responsible for investigating and analysing logistics support data and trends on equipment and systems, and for providing recommendations that assist in ensuring the effective operation and sustainment of the equipment and systems until the Life of Type is reached. You will provide specialist input to the design and development of solutions, and will be expected to provide leadership to small teams and mentoring to other engineering team members.
You will also:
* Support strategy development, modelling and performance evaluation
* Performance and/ or review of relevant Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) activities including:
* Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM)
* Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA)
* Level of repair Analysis (LORA)
* Conduct investigations and analysis of data collected for an impression of equipment/ systems history and current condition
* Conduct risk assessments on the equipment/ system being investigated
* Draw conclusions and propose recommendations to improve equipment/ system reliability and supportability based on analysis and available evidence
* Support the management of transition into service of the mission and support system under the relevant contract
* Provide support to the existing design, development, design evaluation, engineering change, reliability and sustainability during all stages of the life of the delivered products
* Responsible for ensuring that product reliability and sustainability is maintained and that a high level of engineering performance and operational availability is achieved, by ensuring sound LSA engineering principles are being adhered to within the relevant organisations
* Develop proficiency in use of any customer software applications used in support of the reliability of the products, as required
* Provide guidance and direction to the customer Engineering and Maintenance staff, as required, to ensure effective System, Product or Service reliability performance
* Manage close out of reliability investigations and their approved recommendations
About you:
* Tertiary qualification - Diploma, formal trade or technical certificate qualification in Engineering and/ or equivalent industry experience
* Significant experience in the technical review and reporting of assessment data relative to the mechanical and/ or electrical health of systems and equipment (essential)
* Demonstrated experience in the technical review and development of ILS products for the support of systems and equipment (essential)
* Certification in CAAM, CPAM, CSAM, CFAM (highly desirable)
* Experience in alternate LSA Frameworks such as Asset Management or Integrated Product Support
* Experience in the operation and/ or maintenance of systems within the defence environment or related technical industry (highly desirable)
* High degree of competence with the Microsoft Office ® suite of applications
* Hold or eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance
