The Role
Accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve complex materiel logistics work within an integrated workforce, such as managing compliance of special license plant across all maritime range capabilities, managing and forecasting target consumption and stock levels across forward estimates. They are accountable to have and maintain a well-developed understanding of legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s logistics policy requirements.
An APS 6 ILS Officer - Sustainment will be accountable for making independent decisions relating to their area of responsibility, as well as interpreting and providing advice within the Material Logistics function across internal project and product teams. They will undertake technical research and analysis, conduct reviews and perform procedural or clerical work to achieve results. Required to engage and communicate with stakeholders to identify, respond and provide advice on issues to achieve high quality delivery of the provision of target, signature management and telemetry range support.
About our Team
Maritime Operational Support System Program Office (MOSSPO) is an exciting and complex work area, managing the ADFs inventory of maritime targets, as well as ensuring material availability of its signature management and guided weapon telemetry ranges.
MOSSPO works across both the acquisition and sustainment of Targets and Maritime Ranges and has a wide range of customers across the country including Navy, Air Force and Defence Science & Technology Group, as well as coordinating provision of services to major international exercises at home and abroad. MOSSPO has office locations in both Brindabella Park, ACT and Defence Plaza Sydney, NSW.
Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate has Materiel Logistics skills which they are interested in applying the Maritime Domain.
The qualities and experience we are looking for include:
- Strong skills and experience in the field of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) management
- Demonstrated experience developing policies, procedures and processes for ILS management
- Working level awareness of Defence asset and inventory management ICT systems
- Excellent communication and customer engagement skills
- Ability to work within a diverse team and a fast paced and highly variable environment.
- Proactive in learning new skills to improve their versatility within the Programme Officer
