Our client is a well-established and highly regarded law firm based in Sydney. They provide a range of legal services to clients worldwide. The main areas of practice include conveyancing, immigration law, commercial law, wills and estates and family law. They are a young but experienced team with a diverse client base. The firm's lawyers are passionate about their work, and as a firm they take pride in delivering quality legal services to their clients. They have an interesting and broad range of work - they may be in court fighting to keep a client in Australia or they may be negotiating a multi-million dollar contract on behalf of a commercial client.
The role
They are looking for a junior lawyer to join their immigration team. You will have a steady flow of immigration matters, ranging from simple applications to more complex matters (such as reviews, visa cancellations and court appeals). They have an Accredited Specialist in Immigration Law who will work closely with you, providing mentorship and supervision as required. This a great opportunity for professional development and career progression within a supportive, nurturing and collaborative environment. There will also be opportunities to work on files in their other practice areas.
They have modern offices in the Rockdale CBD. Their working hours are reasonable. You will work day to day with experienced lawyers and will receive ongoing support. You will be able to speak to clients directly, to appear in tribunals/court yourself and gain experience across a broad range of immigration matters.
About you
To succeed in this role, you will:
Hold a current practising certificate
Have at least 1-2 years of experience in Immigration Law
Have an analytical mind, attention to detail and a passion for your work
Be enthusiastic and willing to learn - they are ready to teach you
