Indirect Tax Advisor - initial 15-month FTC
Our client is a global organisation with interesting and complex tax issues. Due to a maternity cover, they have an exciting opportunity available initially for a 15 month contract to join a leading global diversified business within the group tax team.

Leverage your Indirect Tax and direct tax experience working on ATO tax audits, complex tax advisory, and tax compliance.
Reporting to the Group Indirect Tax Manager, the key responsibilities of the role will be:
- Indirect Tax Role based in Sydney CBD
- Assist in reviews and audits when conducted by the Australian Taxation Office
- Assist in advising management of new or proposed tax legislation, regulations, and rulings with respect to GST, Payroll Tax, FBT, Excise and Income Tax
- Identify tax opportunities across the group
- Prepare and lodge monthly and quarterly consolidated and stand-alone BAS/IAS for allocated GST Groups and individual companies using Thomson Reuters GST Software
- Be a backup resource for preparing and lodging weekly Excise returns for relevant group companies
- Prepare and lodge Fringe Benefits Tax Returns for allocated companies within the group
- As required for allocated asset groups and legal entities, manage compliance under income tax and fringe benefits tax law
- Assist in the identification, development and implementation of systems, policies, processes and procedures to minimise the risk of non-compliance with revenue laws, and to effectively manage taxation liabilities and risk
Experience:
- Degree qualified and post-graduate qualifications CPA, CA or Masters of Tax
- Minimum 3+ years tax experience in a big 4, second tier and/or major corporate
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to build positive relationships across all levels of the organisation
- Strong technical indirect and direct tax skills
- Enthusiasm and flexibility to take on extra responsibilities where appropriate
