The role of Industrial Designer includes planning, designing and development of commercial packaging to meet specific marketing client storage and transport needs and manufacturing requirement of clients.
Specific core tasks include:
- Design scoping
- Concept Development
- Concept Prototyping
- Final Design Engineering
- Manufacturing process workflow design
- Product assurance and testing
- Manufacturing planning, costing and scheduling
- Reporting and monitoring
- Support and guidance of relevant staff
You should be capable at every stage of the design process and ready to manage entire design projects - on time, in full and on budget - from brief development to concept generation, and from technical development to commercialisation and production support.
Key Selection Criteria includes:
- Extensive design knowledge, tools and principles
- Experience in engineering design processes
- Production and Processing knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and techniques
- Experience in Prototypes that are 2D or 3D physical objects or screen visualisations implementing ideas about future products
- A strong attention to detail
- Exceptional Customer Service Skills
- Relevant degree in design preferably specialising in manufacturing design
