Overview and Purpose of the Position
WarpForge has a strong focus on industrial automation and process control. As we grow into new facilities, the Industrial Electrician – A Grade Licenced is responsible for designing, installing, testing, and certifying electrical installations for our Canning Vale facility. The role is also responsible for establishing electrical safety of the site and equipment at the site on an ongoing basis.
Duties
The Industrial Electrician – A Grade Licenced shall carry out the following duties and tasks:
- Electrical infrastructure upgrades, including liaising with power authority contractors.
- Electrical installations including cable tray and cabling works.
- The execution and mandatory testing of electrical wiring to ensure well-functioning power, lighting, machinery and other electrical systems in accordance with Electricity Safety (Installations) Regulations.
- Inspection of electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Liaising with Electrical Inspectors to ensure works are compliant.
- Effective and proactive communication to ensure stakeholders are informed of service progress and milestone delivery.
People and Leadership Skills
- Initially the role does not have direct reports.
- As the business grows and depending on the competency of the individual in the role at the time, the opportunity may exist for the role to expand into a team leader position, in charge of several electricians.
Required Experience
Candidates for this role must demonstrate the following required experience:
- A strong understanding of The Wiring Rules, and how to interpret and apply it, and a solid knowledge of installation and testing procedures for a safe and compliant electrical installation.
- Ability to interpret and follow technical drawings and site plans.
- Able to work in both a solo and team environment.
- High Standards of Workmanship and attention to detail.
- Strong time management and prioritisation skills.
Experience in the following areas is desirable:
- Assembling control panels from detailed line drawings.
- Installation of data cables and terminations.
- PLC wiring, VFD/VSD and motor wiring, testing, and commissioning.
Qualifications, Licenses and/or Certifications
The following qualifications, licences or certifications are mandatory for applicants to this role:
- Current WA A Grade Licence.
- Industry Induction - White Card.
- Scissor lift or boom ticket.
- Current Australiana Drivers Licence.
- Working at Heights certificate.
- First Aid & CPR certificate.
- Qualifications to be nominated as a Technical Supervisor for Electrical Contractor Licensing.
Workplace Health & Safety
- The Industrial Electrician – A Grade Licenced must follow all WarpForge WH&S policies.
- The role will also contribute to the development of new WH&S policies in the area of electrical safety.
