Appointment Pool
Corporate Information Services is seeking to establish a pool of Information Access Officers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2024 and up to the end of April 2025 Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within 2024 and up to the end of April 2025.

Suitable applicants will assist the Coordinator, Information Access with case management for the release of information while also providing routine advice to telephone and email enquiries from the public, external stakeholders and departmental staff about access to information.
As the Information Access Officer, you will research and analyse information release issues under direction of the Coordinator, Information Access. You will be responsible for ensuring requests, correspondence and other documentation is filed electronically and kept up to date so that management and reporting requirements are met.

- Demonstrated sound knowledge and understanding of the principles of information release in a government agency.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of records management principles and concepts and experience with information systems, including databases, electronic documents and records management system.
- Demonstrated sound verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated initiative and sound organisational skills, including ability to solve problems, prioritise tasks effectively and work collaboratively in a team environment.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter.
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
