About Us
Maitland City Council is a diverse and dynamic organisation that supports one of the fastest growing regional LGA’s in the state. Our Transport & Infrastructure Team helps identify, program and prioritise new and existing infrastructure improvement works that are incorporated into Councils existing infrastructure assets base that includes over 2 billion dollars of roads, drainage, bridges, major structures, recreation, active transport and traffic facilities. We ensure we provide the community infrastructure at an agreed level of service and in a financially sustainable way, as guided by Maitland +10 and Councils Delivery Program. 

About the role
As our Infrastructure Investigation Engineer, you’ll be responsible for investigating and advising on a variety of critical matters, including traffic flow optimisation, road safety enhancements and stormwater management solutions. You’ll be proficient in CAD software, creating innovative designs for infrastructure projects, contributing to the continual improvement of our community’s infrastructure.

Overseeing projects and ensuring that they align with approved design plans, budget allocations and safety and environmental standards will be paramount. Lastly, you’ll prepare comprehensive reports for stakeholders, engage with local traffic committee’s and government authorities and provide expert advice to both internal and external stakeholders.

Benefits
This is a permanent full-time role working 35 hours per week with a base salary ranging from $99,353 up to $110,282 per year based on experience + 11% p.a superannuation.

About You
To be successful in this role you will possess a degree qualifications in Civil Engineering or equivalent, coupled with contemporary experience in civil engineering design and analysis of traffic and transport management. Expertise in stormwater, flood risk management and stormwater infrastructure design is also required. You’ll have highly developed communication skills and the ability to articulate findings to both internal and external stakeholders is a key component to the role.
