Who are we looking for?

We have an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Technical Director or Senior Consultant in Infrastructure Sustainability to help support, drive and deliver the sustainability strategy in our business. 

You will use your specialist knowledge in ISC standards to help our clients meet sustainability standards, through helping them understand, engage with, and act on their sustainability-related risks and opportunities for varied and high-profile infrastructure projects in Victoria and nationally.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: 

• Being the Sustainability Technical Lead for multi-disciplinary infrastructure design projects
• Facilitating the sustainability in design process on multidisciplinary projects
• Working closely with Project Managers and Design Leads to integrate sustainability considerations appropriately into design considerations and documentation
• Providing technical leadership and professional mentorship 
• Developing and enhancing client relationships, as well as bid-leader relationships, for strategic pursuits and proposals
• Growing our strong local, state and national sustainability business by identifying opportunities and packaging GHD's services to meet client needs

What you will bring to the team 

• 7-15 years of proven experience in supporting the sustainability component of infrastructure projects
• Proven experience working on relevant infrastructure projects and in-depth knowledge of ISC ratings and guidelines
• Solid understanding of global, national, and regional sustainability frameworks 
• Working knowledge of materials impact / life-cycle assessments, climate risk and resilience and energy and carbon modelling
• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Sustainability and Environment, Climate Change or Environmental Science
• Proven experience developing and maintaining client relationships
• Infrastructure Sustainability Council accreditation
