The Opportunity
Healthscope is seeking an Injury Management Adviser to compliment the Queensland, Northern Territory and Western Australian portfolio. This permanent part time role is responsible for partnering with and supporting the designated portfolio management teams to improve their Injury Management performance. Specifically, through assisting staff injured at work to remain or return to work as soon as safely possible after an injury, minimising claims costs while maintaining a positive safety culture and compliance with the requirements of Workers Compensation Laws and application of Healthscope Policies and Procedures. Facilitate site return to work and rehabilitation programs and provide advice and assistance to managers, staff and treatment providers to develop suitable return to work plans.
· Provide technical advice and education on Injury Management roles, responsibilities and worker's compensation legislation
· Liaise with insurers and participate in claim reviews
· Participate in and contribute to risk management activities including but not limited to: workplace assessments to match functional capacity with suitable duties, support of wellbeing programs, assist with complex ergonomic and work task assessments, provide subject matter expertise regarding injuries/illnesses declared in recruitment processes and participate in incident investigations.
About You
You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, have excellent attention to detail and be a strong advocate for embedding best practice Injury Management into daily practice. You will be skilled at influencing Managers and staff to drive a continuous improvement approach in early intervention and Injury Management performance.
To be successful in your application, you will:
· Have a minimum of 2 years experience in Injury Management, claims, workers' compensation and early intervention
Qualifications for Success
Mandatory:
* Return to Work Coordinator training appropriate to the State or Territory
* Valid drivers licence
Desirable:
* Experience working in Healthcare
* Incident and Investigation Training e.g. ICAM or similar
* Diploma in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology or Exercise Physiology or higher (or evidence working towards same)
* Certificate IV or higher in Personal Injury Management
* Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment
* Membership or affiliation with a personal injury or safety professional association
