About the Role

The Injury ManagementWellness Lead is responsible for developing and implementing the right systems, practice methodologies, education, and documentation to enable a consistent approach to Injury management wellbeing. The purpose of the role is to build current and future capacity focusing on building an early intervention and Wellness culture across the organisation. The Injury Management Lead will be responsible for:

  • Assessing business needs and implementing programs that drive early intervention and Wellness initiatives.
  • Ensure management of injuries illnesses, disabilities and return to work services is compassionate and timely, which balances individual recovery needs with a responsible approach for the organisation.
  • Provide technical injury Management and wellness advice nationally to internal stakeholders.
  • Implement defined procedures and tools to meet Injury Management requirements.
  • Monitor existing and incoming legislation and regulations on health and safety to ensure Safe Places complies with requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessment and develop appropriate action plans.
  • Evaluate and report on the status of implemented Injury Management and Wellness requirements.
  • Work with the WHS team to support the inspection or evaluation of workplace environments, equipment, or practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations as required.
  • Lead a Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator that supports internal key stakeholders.

About You

Our Injury ManagementWellness Lead will bring a genuine passion to making a difference in the lives of young people and our communities, holding certain attributes, and demonstrated knowledge and experience in:

  • Degree in Workplace Health and Safety or equivalent qualification in relevant field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the Workers Compensation legislation and associated processes nationally.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the development and management of contemporary health, safety, and workers’ compensation/Injury Management and Wellness strategies.
  • Current knowledge of Workers Compensation claims management systems and best practice concepts and demonstrated Return to Work management experience.
  • Experience working with professionals such as occupational rehabilitation providers, medical specialists, allied health staff, WorkSafe and Insurance agents.
  • Experience managing and leading teams in geographically dispersed organisations.
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to deliver positive outcomes.
  • Exception project management skills.
  • Experience managing broad range of Injury Management and WHS issues nationally.
