The Role
Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School requires a Double Bass/Bass Guitar teacher for a fixed term part time (approx. 0.6) position over 3 days per week commencing from 15 July 2024 to 13 December 2024. This position must include Tuesdays, with some flexibility for the other two days.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
- Relevant qualifications and experience in teaching Double Bass and Bass Guitar
- Ability to engage and inspire students in the programme, in private tuition and small group settings and in supporting ensembles
- Ability work effectively with students, parents and staff
- Support for a culture of thinking and student care and wellbeing
- Support for the School's music events and activities
Based primarily at the Keilor East campus teaching secondary students from Years 7 to 12, including the Year Seven Instrumental Programme. The teacher also provides private tuition lessons to primary aged students at the Junior Schools Moonee Ponds and Essendon campuses. Ensemble participation depends on the days of work.
Applicants must be suitably qualified and experienced and hold either VIT registration or a current Working With Children Check. You must also be eligible to work in Australia.
